To help our visitors become informed, make decisions, and take action, we offer topically-organized resource pages that point to key content on the Site and to carefully selected resources that were developed by others and are available elsewhere. Our Terms of Use policy governs your use of our Site. Although chosen with care, we do not assume responsibility for the content of external resources. Childbirth Connection makes no warranties about and specifically disclaims all liability regarding third-party websites and other materials. Please check the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy that govern your use of other websites and any similar terms relating to other types of media. In choosing external resources, we aim to select from possible candidates a small number of higher quality, more trustworthy resources that extend the offerings of this Site. When choosing resources, we seek those that are grounded in sound science; give priority to needs and interests of mothers, babies and families; have transparent sponsorship and policies; are up-to-date; and are clear and easy to use. We prefer to avoid resources with commercial sponsorship and the potential for commercial or other conflicts of interest to influence the content. We prefer to avoid websites that interact with visitors and collect and use information about visitors for commerical aims. Most recent page update: 2/7/2006

Listening to MothersSM III is the third national
survey exploring women’s experiences in pregnancy and childbirth.
Commissioned by Childbirth Connection, conducted by Harris Interactive, and
funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the survey polled 2,400 women who gave
birth in U.S. hospitals from 2011 to 2012. Results show that medically
intensive experiences are typical, and evidence-based practices are
underutilized. Childbearing women need better support and knowledge to
navigate their maternity care.
