Murray Enkin, MD
Murray Enkin is Professor Emeritus in the departments of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, McMaster University. In former years he was successively a family doctor, specialist obstetrician, childbirth educator, clinical epidemiologist, primary and secondary researcher, and honorary midwife. He has tutored in a variety of educational programs, including undergraduate medicine, research methodology, critical appraisal of medical literature, how to teach critical appraisal, population health, and the philosophy of science for health research. A former Chief of Obstetrics at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton, he has also worked for the past twenty years in Oxford, England, with the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit, and the Cochrane Collaboration.
